welcome to izzi doro!

we are excited to share the launch of izzi doro olive oil. this is something deeply personal and close to my heart. the name comes from my grandfather, whose life inspired this journey and the way we think about food and time spent around it. he believed in simple things done well. that’s what this is about.

i wanted to begin this blog by sharing one of his favorite things to eat, something as simple as it gets but perfect with the right ingredients.

pane e pomodoro.

it’s not a recipe so much as a way of putting a few good ingredients together. all it calls for is:

  • a couple slices of italian bread, toasted until just crisp
  • crush cherry tomatoes by hand so the juice runs, and then spoon over the bread
  • finish with olive oil, generously
  • a pinch of salt, and a little oregano

that’s it.

it’s the kind of thing you make without thinking, eat standing in the kitchen, or pass around a table with people you care about.

that's what nonno did, and that’s what izzi doro is meant for.
